Hermès is a brand that I have been loving for a while now. I admire the craftmanship they put into their bags and leather goods. Today was finally the day I went to the Hermès boutique and purchased my first item. Of course I had to do a blogpost on the whole experience.
Hermès is the elite when it comes to leather products. It can take up to multiple months for a craftsman to finish a bag or saddle. The French brand started out with making saddles with their signature saddle-stitch. What so special is about this you may ask – the stitch only can be performed by hand.
My Experience
This was the first time going to the Hermès store. I tried to keep an open mind when going to the local boutique, although I had an idea in mind of what I would like. The store itself was beautiful and has two stories. Everything looked very chic, exactly how you would describe the brand.

I could look around myself for a minute when the sales associate came to me. She asked me a few things whereafter we went upstairs to the first floor. Here they displayed a few rider and horse equipment. They also has beautiful displaying of jewellery.
The reason I came to the French brand was for their Small Leather Goods. I had been researching cardholders and wallets by different brands for the past years. Until I saw Hermès’ Small Leather Goods and instantly I was sold. I did not act upon further action than diving into the archive on the brand and listening to reviews.
But then the need for a wallet grew bigger and still I could not make up my mind. A few months back I came again upon the this and in that moment I knew I had to visit the local store to see it in real life.
The sales associate offered multiple pieces to try. We also took a quick look at the Bastia Change Purse, I loved the goat leather. I did not go for this because I simply almost never use coins. She then pulled out different Calvi Cardholders, including the Calvi Duo. I did not went with that either because of the coin pocket. The cardholders were only available in epsom calfsleather and I had my eye on one.
We talked about my favourite colours and she proceeded to pull out one of the most wonderful cardholders I have ever seen. It was from the men’s section but beautiful nevertheless. Made from suede in the colour Bleu Jean, with 4 credit card slots lined with Hermès silk. The reason I did not chose this was because I preferred the practicality of the Calvi.
The Hermès Calvi Cardholder is the item I purchased. I chose the colour Gold which is one of the most known and earliest Hermès colours. The Calvi is the timeless essential. What I love about it is the minimalistic design. Another thing that really attracted me is the practicality. It has two credit card slots and closes with a palladium-plated snap closure. The cardholder is for me the epitome of chic! I love it so much!

I had the loveliest sales associate, she gifted me these DIY Hermès Leather key chains, which is so nice! The store has a beautiful display in which I noticed unique and beautiful Kelly bags and Birkins. Mini Kelly bags and Constances were of course displayed. I had an amazing time in the store and I am so happy with my purchase!

What are your dream Hermès items? I have about a never ending wish-list. Do let me know yours!
Love always,
