This year I discovered lots of new products and I found this is the perfect time to share with you a round up of all my 2023 favourites. The items range from beauty and skincare to books and shoes.
Beauty
I am not an avid makeup user I do however love lip-gloss. This has been a thing of mine since as long as I can remember. My weakness for lip-gloss always leaves me with yet another lip product.
To start your lip prep we need to make sure they’re soft and the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask does that exactly. I have this product in the flavour grapefruit which is a good choice. It does even seem like I’m wearing a lip gloss when putting the mask on.
This product I discovered in 2022 and this year it’s again a favourite. I am talking about the Charlotte Tilbury Happilips in. I do think the colour pillowtalk, which I own, is an universal colour to go for. Like the Laneige Lip Mask this product gives your lips a lip-gloss like glow, that anyone will love.

Skincare
About only a month ago I found the Augustinus Bader The Rich Cream and it has already become a favourite of mine. This makes my glowy and healthy looking. It is a good moisturiser for the cooler months. I am excited to see how my skin will feel and look like when another month has gone by. So far I can say that I highly recommend this!
When looking into clean skincare I stumbled upon the brand Living Libations. I decided to order their bestseller, which I had seen a handful of times before on social media. The Best Skin ever in Seabuckthorn is a multi purpose oil-based cleanser and moisturiser in one. I do use it as a cleanser, allthough you could totally use it as a body care product. It feels soft on the skin, which is a must for skin care.
After I went through the little bottle I immediately repurchased the big size and that says enough about how much I love it.
Other beauty favourites
My favourite fragrances of the year were definitely Good Girl by Carolina Herrera and Flowerbomb by Victor&Rolf. Two totally different scents and both lovely. Good girl has a mysterious feel to it, created by tonka bean, almond and vanilla. The jasmine gives it a lighter feel, a light floral touch. Flowerbomb is literally the epitome of the perfume’s name. It smells feminine, sweet due to the vanilla and it is like walking in a flower meadow.
Another product of the brand Living Libations that I love is the Spirulina Shampoo. This in combination with a head massager brush does wonders. I like to massage the skin of my head before I wash it, to stimulate the skin. Then I also use the brush during the washing. My hair is soft and silky looking and who does not love that?
The Essie nail polish is always a big favourite. Their top- and basecoat in one works wonders. And they have a wide range of colours. I love my nails painted red, only darkish though, more towards burgundy.

Shoes
Beginning of 2023 I got myself a pair of UGG boots, the Classic Mini II in black. I decided to only wear them inside since I always have cold feet. This was the perfect answer to that and when the cold months came around the corner I decided to start wearing them again.
My latest shoe purchase is also from the Australian footwear brand. I got myself the Ultra-mini in the chocolate brown colour. They’re made of leather which makes them perfect for rainy and winter weather. Now I always have warm feet which is a must-have for me during these months.
Books
I started the year with a few reading goals, one of them reading Anna Karenina. So of course it was the first book I picked up in 2023. Before I thought it would be too hard for me to comprehend, that I wasn’t well read enough.
But finally picking this book up proofed otherwise. It was very readable, I think even if you haven’t read many classic literature works. The story felt very realistic and that was exactly what I loved. I still spend time thinking about this book, so I would encourage you to read this!
Other books I loved reading this year were The Ice Palace by the Norwegian writer Tarjei Vesaas, a story about to girls forming a friendship during the winter months. It has beautiful prose and is very short to read. The Black Tulip by Alexandre Dumas is also a short novel that has stuck with me. You follow a young man that falls in love with cultivating tulips and that is all I can really say to you about it.

A short mention of my favourite music of 2023. The Weeknd is still one of my most played artists. I love his album Dawn FM! Another favourite of mine is the Nutcracker ballet composited by Tchaikovsky. I found it really calming to listen to it. The version I currently like the most is played by the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House.
What were your 2023 Favourites? Have an amazing 2024!
Love always,
Lyn
