Milan Fashion Week 2024 is coming to the end, with only the Paris Fashion Week left after a successful Fashion month. Let’s discuss the newest trends we spotted on the Milanese runways.
My favourite shows were Max Mara, Versace and Tom Ford, however I loved many of the new collections of other designers as well.
Max Mara
We started of strong with one of my favourite shows. Elegance, chic and minimal were the perfection description for this show. The minimal tone felt similar to the Proenza Schouler show during the New York Fashion Week.
Structured tailoring of large coats and suits really added an extra layer of chicness to the muted colour palette. Of course the iconic Teddy Coat was seen, this time in beautiful charcoal grey.
The models wore simple black leather belts with a small gold buckle, both with matching sets and on top of coats.
Tom Ford
Big glasses and glamour. We saw a colour palette of black, ivory, navy and a little hint of purples. Gold big buttons placed on pea coats and jackets. Pendants, strappy heels and big leather bracelets are the cool accessories on this Milan Fashion Week runway.
My favourite looks were definitely the ones with matching waistcoat-blazers and big oversized sunglasses, what you call typically Tom Ford Style. So glamourous and cool yet effortless.
I love how the outfits are all monochrome coloured, which is my preferred way of dressing.
Versace
Bold red combined with strong black-white clothing to create a fierce rebelling look. Those were thoughts of Donatella Versace when designing the Fall Winter 2024 collection. Structured tweed blazers and tailored pants were also a key component.
We cannot forget the draping mini skirts, they came in silver metallic, red, black and beige. The black heavy eyeliner was another statement makeup trend spotted, with the uprising of everyone being more expressive with their makeup.
Leather gloves were worn by most of the models on this Fall Winter Runway, as well as at other designers shows. That is something that definitely look out for as a new trend.
Bally
Inspired by Swiss folklore the Bally Fall Winter 2024 collection presented was chic yet functional. Smart tailoring with elegant coats, Alpine prints, and utterly clean looking are the perfect way to describe this collection. I love the crisp shirts, worn under blazers and on its own. The lace-up heels reminded me of Victorian boots, which is definitely coming back as a big trend. And the dark lipstick added another layer of coolness to the looks.
Bottega Veneta
Bottega Veneta is known for their leather craftmanship, however the coats they presented looked amazing. Gloves with the brands signature intrecciato leather were spotted, which look so cool to me. A big shoulder bag in black leather was also seen, the big sister of the Pouch Clutch.
